Leaders in the Film Industry since 1985
Aristos Films continues the production business of Dale and Grant Bradley, formerly of Daybreak Pacific, one of the most prolific productions companies in New Zealand; and Limelight International an active production company in Australia. The brothers are represented in NZ, Australia, USA, and China with offices in Auckland and London.
Grant and Dale were raised on the west coast of Canada and returned to New Zealand, the country of their birth as young adults. They established a music retail business which was, for over ten years one of the largest sellers of recorded vinyl and cassettes. Prior to the emergence of CD and digital technology the brothers sold out of the music industry and began producing promotional and marketing video until they developed the expertise that enabled them to move into television and film. This move in 1980, enabled them to follow a passion for film making inherited from their father who was an active amateur 8mm film maker.
The Bradleys have established themselves as one of the most experienced producers the South Pacific and in the five-year period up until 2013 arguably financed and produced more films in Queensland, Australia than any other production company. With a combined experience of over 50 years and more than 40 feature films to their credit, they have developed strong industry connections internationally. This has led them to establish an office in London where they formed a film financing business and are developing several projects to be produced in Europe China and elsewhere.
The Aristos business model includes both high and low budget film production. Larger productions include the period epic SINGULARITY directed by the acclaimed Roland Joffe (The Killing Fields, The Mission) and starring Josh Hartnett. Other recent productions include BAD KARMA (starring Ray Liotta and Dominic Purcell) and DECEPTION (starring Cuba Gooding Jr).
One outstanding feature of their success has been the focus on emerging talent and the company has launched the careers of many of today’s leading film technicians and actors. The Bradleys have led the way in the use of new technology and systems enabling them to produce high quality films at a significantly lower cost than many other established producers.
Over a career in the film industry spanning nearly 30 years, Dale has established a reputation as one of the South Pacific’s best producers and has also directed 7 films which have performed extremely well in their markets. He has produced films in NZ, Australia, USA, France, Germany, UK, and Russia. Grant has attended every AFM and Cannes Film Festival for 25 years and has a wide network of relationships with producers, sales companies, distributors, banks and other financiers. In broad terms the division of responsibilities is that Grant is the Head of Finance and Marketing, and Dale is Head of Creative and Production.
Aristos Films actively develops and funds its own projects, as well as looking for creative and financial partnerships with other producers, distributors, and sales companies around the world. Aristos, through its associate companies, will invest or finance film and television projects by other producers that fits their business model.
